This is a new event for Yankee Homecoming: July 30 – Aug 6, 2016:

This is a family and neighborhood event during Yankee Homecoming week (1st week of August)
It’s simple, easy, grass roots, and fun.

Grab your kids, your spouse, your neighbor, go to the library, do an internet search, or simply discuss something that you know about your home and/or the people in it – historical or modern day – that you wouldn’t mind sharing with neighbors. Put it into 3 or 4 sentences on poster board, hang it out in front of the house, and Voila! A reason to walk around, meet our neighbors, and admire our homes!

The Preservation Trust and the Museum of Old Newbury are behind it.  We’ll provide the poster board and markers, you provide the stories, and then we all walk around the neighborhood reading them!

To keep it walkable, we are targeting the houses bounded State to Lime, High to Water. But anything outside of that area isn’t discouraged, and more than 50 would be wonderful!

Spread The Word!  and Tell Your House’s Story!
